Diva String Quartet is one of the best established and sought after quartets in Canberra.

Offering the perfect combination of elegance and musical experience, our quartet has built up a very successful career over the last ten years. We tailor our performance to suit your occasion, whether it be an intimate family gathering such as a wedding or a funeral, or a gala event for a national company. Our repertoire is large and varied, from classical to folk, jazz to pop.

Our list of corporate clients includes BDW Special Events,  The National Gallery of Australia, National Museum, Old Parliament House, ANU, Ernst & Young, Gavin Anderson, The Brumbies, Embassies, Government Departments, private firms and major corporations such as Toyota.

We are currently preparing some new webpages to show sample programmes of music especially suited to specific occasions, hopefully on this site by February. 

Our members are all highly regarded professional musicians in their own right. Their experience includes full-time employment with the Sydney, Canberra, Tasmanian, Adelaide and New Zealand Symphony Orchestras.

Why choose Diva Quartet?

Some points you might consider when deciding what makes a good musical group.

1. We are an established group, not students thrown together for the day. This means we are attuned to playing together, we know each other, we know our music and can thus respond quickly to the slightest change (e.g. having to shorten or prolong a piece say as the bride is arriving). 
2. We are professional players - this means we have degrees or diplomas of music, we earn our living through music.
3. We can arrange music if it isn't available in quartet format.
4. We play all sorts of music, not just Mozart and a few other classical composers.
5. We have a sample CD
6. We hold an APRA licence which means that we are serious about our music samples and we have paid to be able to legally record them for website, CDs etc. 
7. We carry our own public liability insurance (Marsh Australia)
8. We have huge experience, and we know the music scene - okay, maybe this makes us sound ancient but we've got over 80 years combined experience so we think we know what works!
9. We don't need amplification, we can set up in about 5 - 10 minutes!
10. We can play inside or outside, all we need is adequate lighting and protection from the elements.

Our core group of players is violinists Rose and Gillian, violist Liz and cellists Frances and Lindy.

From time to time, one of us may not be available in which case we call upon a player from our list of handpicked deputies, each of whom is a qualified, professional musician. Gill, Lindy, and Rose are also each highly successful instrumental teachers with busy music studios.
